Memphis Milano Tribute

" A source of inspiration in the creation of my project was influential design collaborative named Memphis Goup whose leader is Ettore Sottsass.

This group of creative artists designed postmodern furniture, fabrics, ceramics, glass and metal objects.

The name was taken after the Bob Dylan song "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again" which had been played repeatedly throughout the evening's meeting.  They drew inspiration from such movements as Art Deco and Pop Art, including styles such as the 1950s Kitsch and futuristic themes.

Despite the fact that peak of group activity occurred in the 80s and 90s their influence concerning froms, color palette, and composition seems incredibly relevant today and directly borrowed many contemporary designers without any reflection on the sources on this matter. In this project I tried to work in this style, and bring some dynamism from motion design.
